Costs, timing, approvals, and the details worth asking about.
All your questions, answeredOpening sizes, window styles, glass specifications, access, permitting, and finish repairs all affect the total. An opening-by-opening proposal is more useful than a generic price per window. Start with your ZIP code and approximate opening count; exact measurements come later.
There are two timelines: getting ready and installing. Product selection, final measurements, approvals, permitting, and manufacturing happen before installation. Opening count, access, weather, and repairs affect installation time. Ask for a project-specific schedule before signing.
Expect replacement work to require a review of local permit requirements. Your city or county building department determines the applicable process. Condo and HOA approvals are separate from building permits; obtain written architectural approval where required before ordering.
Product and labor coverage can be separate. Before ordering, request the actual written terms for the selected product and installation, including exclusions, maintenance requirements, transferability, and the process for requesting service.
Modern glass packages can improve thermal performance compared with many older systems. Insurance considerations depend on your home, carrier, inspection, and policy. Neither bill savings nor premium reductions are guaranteed.
