Impact entry & French doors

Make a stronger first impression.

Entry doors, French doors, and glass doors that bring the whole home together.

Impact doors are entry, French and glazed doors whose panel, frame, glass, hardware and anchors are tested and approved as one assembly. True Impact helps you choose the configuration, then confirms the approval, permit and installation details for your actual opening.

Start at the threshold.

A door has to do more than look right. Daily operation, locking, weather sealing, accessibility, and protection all need to work together. Compare the complete approved assembly, including the frame and hardware.

Choose the way in.

Explore configurations during your consultation; product availability and approved sizes will be confirmed for your project.

  • Entry doors: balance privacy, daylight, security hardware, and architectural style.
  • French doors: paired hinged panels create a generous opening; confirm swing direction and clearance.
  • Glazed doors with sidelights: review the entire approved combination, including adjoining glass.
  • Sliding systems: expand the view where hinged door clearance is limited.

Hardware is part of the protection.

Locks, hinges, mullions, thresholds, and anchors belong to the tested system. Unapproved substitutions can change performance. Ask how corrosion exposure, maintenance, and everyday ease of use inform the selection.

Plan the finish before the first frame comes out.

Discuss floor transitions, door swing, alarm contacts, trim, paint, and weather sealing. Confirm what happens if the existing opening needs repair and how those changes are priced and approved.

Check any product approval yourself in the Florida Product Approval search or the Miami-Dade product approvals (NOA). Page updated .

Before you get started

Questions homeowners ask first.

Costs, timing, approvals, and the details worth asking about.

All your questions, answered
What about sliding doors and large openings?

Panel sizes, tracks, supporting structure, drainage, and pressure requirements all matter. More glass is not simply a bigger standard window. Evaluate the complete approved door configuration and installation details for the opening.

Do I need permits and HOA approval?

Expect replacement work to require a review of local permit requirements. Your city or county building department determines the applicable process. Condo and HOA approvals are separate from building permits; obtain written architectural approval where required before ordering.

What warranty will I receive?

Product and labor coverage can be separate. Before ordering, request the actual written terms for the selected product and installation, including exclusions, maintenance requirements, transferability, and the process for requesting service.
