CWS impact windows and doors.

CWS (Custom Window Systems, Inc.) has built windows and doors in Ocala, Florida since 1986 and has been part of Pella Corporation since 2019. Its impact products come in two lines. Hurricane Guard covers vinyl and aluminum windows and patio doors, with many models rated for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). StormStrong covers vinyl single-hung and picture windows for areas outside that zone. The aluminum models carry Miami-Dade NOAs; the vinyl models carry Florida Product Approvals. CWS also makes non-impact lines (Comfort Shield and Fortify).

Questions about CWS.

Costs, timing, approvals, and the details worth asking about.

All your questions, answered
Can True Impact supply and install CWS products?

Yes. True Impact Windows & Doors supplies and installs CWS impact windows and doors across Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. If you want to compare, we can also quote another brand.

What is the difference between the SH-8100 and 7100?

Both are Hurricane Guard impact single-hungs approved for the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. The SH-8100 has a multi-chambered vinyl frame with much lower U-factors, so it suits comfort-focused homes, and it carries Florida Product Approvals. The 7100 is aluminum, with slimmer frames and Miami-Dade NOAs, plus a small-missile version for higher floors. Its large-missile ratings top out at +80/-80 psf, compared with +67.5/-100 psf for the strongest SH-8100 approval. Choose by frame material, look and the pressure on your plans.

What is the difference between the SH-6100 and SH-8100?

Both are CWS vinyl impact single-hungs, but they are approved for different places. The StormStrong SH-6100 is rated for Wind Zone 3 only, at +/-50 psf, and may not be used in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, which covers Miami-Dade and Broward. The Hurricane Guard SH-8100 has HVHZ approvals and higher ratings, and comes in tall oriel and twin versions. The SH-6100 has a tilt-in sash for easy cleaning, while the SH-8100's sash does not tilt. For any job in Miami-Dade or Broward, the SH-8100 is the CWS vinyl option.

What warranty comes with CWS products?

CWS publishes its own warranty terms, linked on this page. Coverage and conditions depend on the product and finish, and the documents for your project are included with your proposal.
