ECO impact windows and doors. A homeowner's guide.
ECO builds impact windows and doors in Medley.
Eco Window Systems, LLC, known as ECO, makes aluminum impact windows and doors in Medley, in Miami-Dade County. Its factory and offices are at 8502 NW 80th Street, and its showroom is in Doral. ECO processes its own glass, and its laminated and tempered safety glass is SGCC certified. Its products are sold as Eco-Guard, through dealers. PGT Innovations bought 75% of ECO in February 2021 and the remaining 25% in 2023. MITER Brands bought PGT Innovations in March 2024 and announced on September 30, 2024 that it had sold ECO back to its original founders. True Impact supplies and installs ECO windows and doors; see our ECO page.
Two lines: Eco-Guard and ECO-NOVO.

ECO-NOVO is a newer series of eight products, approved in Florida in 2025. Each ECO-NOVO product is rated for large and small missile impact in a single approval.
- Single-hung: Eco-Guard Series 50, 100 and 150; ECO-NOVO Series 175.

ECO has 20 Florida Product Approvals.
ECO windows and doors are approved through Florida Product Approvals, not Miami-Dade NOAs. ECO has 20 Florida Product Approvals under the 2023 Florida Building Code, and every impact product they cover is approved for use inside and outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Several approvals cover a whole family: FL40096-R5 covers the Eco-Guard single-hungs, FL25674-R8 the Eco-Guard sliding and bifold doors, and FL39630-R5 the Eco-Guard French, entry and pivot doors. Revisions to the door approval (FL39630) and the window-wall approval (FL21632) are pending; FL39630-R5 and FL21632-R6 are the approved revisions. ECO's only active Miami-Dade NOA covers its Series 1000 glass railing: NOA 23-0913.01, which expires March 14, 2029.
Large and small missile ratings work differently in each line.
Every Eco-Guard series is rated for large missile impact. Many Eco-Guard series also have a separate small-missile version, approved as its own product: the Series 100, 150, 155, 200, 250, 300, 350, 500, 550, 600, 700, 750 and 755. The Series 60 covers both in the same product. Each ECO-NOVO product is rated for large and small missile in one approval. Design pressure, shown in psf, also changes by series and size. The approval for the exact size, glass and wall governs each opening, and True Impact confirms the current approval for each opening before permitting. Every ECO approval is listed at the ECO product approvals page.
- Series 100 single-hung: up to +75/-90 psf (large-missile drawing).
- Series 150 single-hung: up to +80/-120 psf (large-missile drawing).
- Series 750 sliding glass door: maximum +70/-130 psf (large-missile drawing).
- ECO-NOVO: listed design pressures run from +55/-60 to +70/-70 psf.
Glass and finishes.
Eco-Guard frames come in white or bronze aluminum, with clear anodized on commercial series. The Series 875 garage door adds black textured, cherry, oak and pine. Glass colors are clear, white (obscure), green, gray, bronze and Azuria. Low-E and argon-filled insulated laminated glass are options on many series. Standard glass is 5/16 in. HS/HS laminated on series such as the 200, 500 and 600, and 7/16 in. HS/HS laminated on the 250, 300, 750, 900 and 1500. Series 100, 200, 500, 550, 600 and 700 are NFRC certified, but ECO publishes no U-factor or SHGC values, and the approval drawings show no thermal break. ECO publishes no finish list for ECO-NOVO.
Ask us for the warranty terms.
ECO does not publish its warranty online. Ask us for the written warranty terms for the exact ECO series you choose, and read them before you order. Keep a copy with your Florida Product Approvals, installation drawings and permit records. That way the terms and the paperwork are in one place if you ever need service on a window or door.
Which homes and openings ECO suits.
Eco-Guard suits most homeowners, with a model for nearly every opening. The Series 100 fits standard bedroom and living-area windows; see our Impact Single-Hung Window page. The Series 150 handles tall single-hung openings and higher-exposure locations. The Series 200 roller fits wide, short openings, and the Series 500 casement suits kitchens and bathrooms that need full ventilation. For patios, the Series 700 runs from standard 2-panel sliders to wide multi-track walls, including pocket configurations, and the Series 900 bifold opens a living area fully to a patio. The Series 1500 pivot door suits statement front entries; see our Impact Pivot Door page. ECO-NOVO suits openings that need large- and small-missile protection in one product.
How True Impact quotes ECO.
We start with your real openings. We measure each one, note the wall type and the wind load it must meet, and match it to the ECO series and approval drawing that cover its size, glass and design pressure. Where an Eco-Guard series has separate large- and small-missile versions, we match the version to your opening. We confirm the current Florida approval for every opening before permitting. Ask us for a side-by-side quote. The full range by product type is at our Windows & Doors page.
