Series comparisons

Eurocraft series compared. EC-400 vs EC-450 and every line.

Compare every Eurocraft series by product type, aluminum EC against uPVC System 76, with sizes, glass, design pressures and Florida approvals.

Eurocraft makes two families: aluminum EC and uPVC.

Every Eurocraft product comes from the same Medley factory, but the two families answer different needs. The aluminum EC series covers fixed, single-hung, sliding, casement and awning windows, a storefront, sliding glass doors and outswing doors. It is rated for large and small missile impact, with ratings up to +120/−140 psf on the EC-400 and ±140 psf on the EC-450. The uPVC line uses steel-reinforced frames on profine Koemmerling profiles for tilt-and-turn, fixed and French-door units, rated for large missile impact. No thermal break is stated for the EC series, and no U-factors are published for the uPVC line. Cost depends on the series, the size and the glass build. Ask us for a side-by-side quote.

Single-hung and sliding windows: EC-200 vs EC-300.

The EC-200 single-hung and the EC-300 horizontal slider share a 3-in. aluminum frame and the same glass menu, so the choice comes down to the opening. The EC-200 has equal-lite or oriel sash options and suits bedrooms and traditional elevations where a familiar hung window is wanted. The EC-300 comes in two-panel (XO/OX) or three-panel (XOX) layouts and suits wide, short openings and rooms where a window can't swing out. Both reach up to ±120 psf with PVB glass or ±140 psf with SentryGlas glass, depending on size, and both drop to ±70 psf with 5/16-in. glass. Both are rated for large and small missile impact in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ). Ask us for a side-by-side quote. See our Impact Single-Hung Window page and our Impact Sliding Window page.

Picture windows: EC-100 vs EC-150 vs EC-700 fixed vs System 76 Fixed.

Eurocraft has four fixed-window choices. The EC-100 is the main aluminum picture window. Its 60 × 120 in. frame can hold shapes such as round tops and eyebrows, and its rating depends on glass and size, reaching ±180 psf on smaller units with 9/16-in. SentryGlas. The EC-150 is a lighter-duty fixed window with a single 5/16-in. laminated build, rated up to ±70 psf, for smaller lites where loads are modest. The EC-700 fixed matches the EC-700 casement and awning. The System 76 Fixed window has a reinforced uPVC frame and a large-missile rating, at up to ±120 psf for the 76AD version. Pick by frame material and by what the fixed lite sits next to. Ask us about availability of the EC-150 and EC-700 fixed. See our Impact Picture Window page.

Casement and awning windows: EC-700 vs System 76 Tilt & Turn.

The EC-700 is an aluminum out-swing casement with a roto operator and a multi-point lock, with matching awning and fixed versions under separate approvals. It is rated up to +100/−120 psf for large and small missiles, and its casement charts give ±80 psf with PVB glass. The System 76 Tilt & Turn is a uPVC window that tilts inward to vent or swings fully open, in in-swing (76MD) or out-swing (76AD) versions. It is rated ±120 psf for large missiles and comes in a slightly larger single size. Choose the EC-700 for an aluminum package, egress openings or an awning over fixed lites. Choose tilt-and-turn for secure inward tilt ventilation in bedrooms, kitchens and condos. See our Impact Casement Window page and our Impact Awning Window page.

On aluminum windows, the glass build sets the rating.

On Eurocraft aluminum windows, the glass you pick changes the pressure the window is approved for. The 5/16-in. laminated build (1/8-in. heat-strengthened glass, 0.090-in. PVB, 1/8-in. heat-strengthened glass) holds the EC-150, EC-200, EC-300 and EC-700 casement to ±70 psf. Laminated glass with PVB reaches up to ±120 psf on the EC-100, EC-200 and EC-300. SentryGlas pushes the EC-200 and EC-300 to ±140 psf and smaller EC-100 units to ±180 psf. The glass also sets the warranty: SentryGlas laminated glass is covered for 10 years, and PVB laminated and insulating glass for 5 years. Pick the glass for the pressure your opening needs, then check the warranty that comes with it.

Sliding glass doors: EC-400 vs EC-450, plus Series 120 and 180.

Both current EC sliders have separate large- and small-missile approvals and two- or three-track layouts. The EC-450 is the heavier option, with reinforced interlocks. It reaches ±140 psf, while the EC-400 tops out at +120/−140 psf, and its approved panels run to 144 in. tall instead of 120 in. The EC-400 reaches its top rating only with type A/Ai glass; other glass types hold it to 70 psf. The EC-450 has the newer approval, with a 2026-code revision pending. Series 120 and Series 180 are earlier sliders that are still Florida-approved; ask us whether they are still offered. The uPVC Premidoor 88 lift-and-slide's certification lapsed in 2024; ask us for current options. See our Impact Sliding Glass Door page and our Impact Multitrack Sliding Door page.

  • EC-400: where water resistance is required, positive load is capped at 95 psf with a 3-7/16-in. sill.
  • EC-400: approved panels up to 40 sq ft, in a frame up to 352 sq ft.

Entry and French doors: EC-650 vs EC-600 vs 76AD French Door.

Eurocraft has three current outswing doors. The EC-650 is the aluminum residential door for front entries and French doors to patios, single or pair, with 42 × 108 in. panels or 42 × 144 in. with a transom. It is rated ±100 psf and is approved in Florida as a residential door, though it is also sold for commercial use. The EC-600 is the commercial door on the 5-in. EC-500 storefront frame, with ADA threshold and bottom-rail options, rated ±120 to ±140 psf. The 76AD French Door is the uPVC option, single or pair up to 88 × 120 in., rated ±120 psf for large missiles. The 76MD in-swing balcony door's certification lapsed in 2024; ask us for current options. Eurocraft does not make a pivot door or a thermally broken door. See our Impact Entry Door page.

Storefront and mullions: EC-500, equal-leg and 700-08.

The EC-500 is a front-set 5-in. aluminum storefront for retail, office and hospitality fronts and ground-floor glass walls. It allows lites up to 120 in. above a horizontal mullion, and its drawing sets limits by glass, mullion and anchor tables. It is also the frame behind the EC-600 and EC-650 doors. To join EC windows into larger combined openings, Eurocraft uses two aluminum mullions. The equal-leg mullion is sized from span tables; its HVHZ version is FL32630-R3 product .1, while product .2 is for wind zone 3 outside the HVHZ. The unclipped 700-08 mullion is rated +100/−120 psf. See our Impact Window Wall page and our Window & Door Mullions page.

The uPVC line: what is current and what lapsed.

The uPVC line needs the most care. The System 76 Fixed window, System 76 Tilt & Turn window and 76AD French Door are large-missile rated and approved for the HVHZ. Several other uPVC products are approved by the certification method, and their certifications lapsed in 2024. Even where the Florida record still reads Approved, treat them as unavailable until we confirm current options. For every Eurocraft product, the approval for your exact size, glass and wall governs, and True Impact confirms the current approval for each opening before permitting. The full list is at the Eurocraft product approvals page.

How to choose a Eurocraft series.

Start with the opening, then the pressure, then the frame material. Each opening has a required design pressure, and the series and glass build together must meet it. The aluminum EC units offer more operating styles and the highest ratings, up to ±180 psf on smaller EC-100 units with SentryGlas. The current uPVC units, the System 76 Fixed, System 76 Tilt & Turn and 76AD French Door, add steel-reinforced vinyl frames and inward tilt ventilation, rated up to ±120 psf. Leave the lapsed uPVC products off the list until we confirm current options. For any opening, ask us for a side-by-side quote of two series with the same glass.

  • Single-hung or slider: the EC-200 or EC-300, with the same frame and glass menu.
  • Fixed glass and shapes: the EC-100; smaller, low-load lites: the EC-150.
  • Casement, awning or tilt-and-turn: the EC-700 in aluminum, or the System 76 Tilt & Turn in uPVC.
  • Sliding glass doors: the EC-400 for openings up to three tracks; the EC-450 for panels up to 144 in. tall and ratings to ±140 psf.
  • Entry and French doors: the EC-650 for homes, the EC-600 for commercial entrances, or the 76AD French Door in uPVC.
  • Storefronts and combined units: the EC-500 storefront, with equal-leg or 700-08 mullions to join windows.
